Phil. 4:6-7 ”Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.“
Do you battle anxiety, fear, or worries of the “what’s if’s”? This is something I have battled and struggled with for many years. Why is it so hard to let go of it, and give to God? I know it’s all in His hands, and His perfect plan for my life. So why should I waste so much time worrying for nothing! Here are some points the Lord has pressed on my heart to help me get through these hard moments.
1. Prayer I notice when I immediately start praying as the first bouts of anxiety and fear start to creep in, it vanishes. It might take time, but don’t stop praying. Pray out loud! Ask for comfort from Him, and His help to take these thoughts away. Reach out to a sister in Christ so she can be helping you pray. Remember, you’re never alone. Trust Him!
2. Praise When you start having those feelings start to creep in crank up your favorite gospel music and worship Him. Sing out loud if you desire, or sing along in your head. You will see real quickly that those feelings fade away, and you feel much better. There’s no greater feeling than to praise HIs Holy name and declare how good He really is!
3. Peace Once you start applying these points above, along with digging in His word, you will find a peace like no other. A peace that only He can provide! A peace that gives you rest in the middle of a storm. Stop fighting this battle on your own, and give it to Him!
