I don’t know about you, but there are times it seems that everything is going wrong. As a matter of fact, it seems like most of those times come when I am trying my best to be all I can be for the Lord. If the Devil is not fighting against you, then you must not be doing anything to upset him. Nothing speaks to me and helps me like God’s word, the Bible. Here are a few verses that help me on days when it seems everything is going wrong.

“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:7-9

When it seems like everything is going wrong, I’m glad I have the promise that if I focus on serving, worshiping, and following God, He will not let me fail. He will be with me during those times, and He will see me through to the other side of them.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;” Psalms 46:1-2

I’m glad that even in the most unexpected and seemingly impossible trials, we have God on our side. He has power over the storms and mountains in our lives.

“But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.” Psalms 3:3-6

I’m glad that in the times when it seems that everything is going wrong, when it seems like everyone is against me, I have a peace that passeth all understanding. A peace that only God can give. A peace that is grounded in the truth that He has the power to sustain me. And I’m glad that this truth can be readily found in His word.
