I'm sure you have heard of a man by the name of Babe Ruth. He was known for holding the record for most home runs hit, but what many don't know is that he also held the record for the most strike outs. In our lives, there will be times that we strike out or fail, and sometimes we will fail in a BIG way. We cannot be afraid of attempting new things in this New Year because of failure. Babe Ruth had the most home runs because he was not afraid of striking out.

Abraham Lincoln:
1831 - failed in business, went bankrupt
1833 - back on his feet, failed again
1835 - fiancé died
1836 - nervous breakdown
1838 - ran for Speaker of the House, was defeated
1843 - ran for Congress. was defeated
1848 - ran for Congress, was defeated
1855 - ran for Senate, was defeated
1856 - ran for Vice President, was defeated
1858 - ran for Senate, was defeated
1860 - was elected President, one of the greatest who ever lived
