Part 3: The Results of God's Plan
Certain predictable results follow when individuals or communities submit to God's plan and execute it for His glory.
One significant outcome is that God's enemies are vanquished. In the account of Gideon, when Israel followed God's specific instructions, their enemies, the Midianites and Amalekites, were overcome by fear and turned on one another before fleeing. This demonstrates that victory over opposing forces can be achieved through obedience to God's strategy, even when human strength seems insufficient.
Secondly, God's people are victorious. Because they chose God's plan, Israel enjoyed a great victory. Success is certain when acting under divine direction.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, God's name is venerated. The unconventional nature of Gideon's victory, achieved without a large army or a fierce, traditional battle, ensured that God received all the glory. Neither Gideon nor his small force could take credit or brag about their accomplishment because the outcome was clearly attributable to God's power and plan. This outcome reveals a core purpose of God's plans: to display His power and receive honor.
When we set aside our plans and embrace God's, we are assured of victory, and more significantly, we are assured that He will receive all the glory for everything that transpires in our lives.
