Part 4: Conclusion
Drawing from the last three devotions in this series, remember that sometimes, even in obedience, God Himself sends us into storms. These tests reveal our limitations and, more importantly, His immeasurable power. The comfort is that even as He sends us, He sees us. He knows every difficulty we'd face and is praying for us.
In the midst of the struggle, when we feel farthest from safety, He comes to us right in our trouble. In these moments of need, His light becomes most visible, supplying a peace beyond understanding.
The storm is also our school. Like Peter, we are challenged to step out of our comfort zones. Stepping out involves asking permission and daring to believe. While we might begin to sink, the instant cry, "Lord save me," brings immediate rescue. The lasting challenge is to avoid living a life in the boat, never daring to act on God's countless promises, but instead to step out and attempt something bold for His glory.
