“Is prayer your steering wheel, or your spare tire?”

--Corrie Ten Boom

The greatest tool we have as a Christian is prayer, but it is also the least used tool we have. So many times we use prayer as a spare tire or a 911 line. We only pray when everything is going wrong. God created man so He would have someone to fellowship with. When we read our Bible, it is God speaking to us. But when we pray, it is us talking to God. Just as much as I enjoy hearing the voice of my children, God enjoys hearing the voice of His children. As we go throughout this week, may we take some time each day to stop and talk to our Heavenly Father.
What if we woke up today with only the things we thanked God for yesterday? Take a few minutes everyday to thank Him for all He has done for you, and don’t just use prayer as your spare tire.

Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
