“You are a success when you have made friends with your past, are focused on the present, and are optimistic about your future.” --Zig Ziglar
What is success? I’m sure we all have a different definition of success, but I love this quote by Zig Ziglar. We all have a past and sometimes that past makes it really hard for us to operate in the present and optimize the future. I will be the first to admit that I made some very bad choices in my past and some that I am not proud of. If we are not careful, we will spend all of our time focusing on what we should have done in the past. The Apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 3 to forget those things which are behind and to simply reach forth to the things that are before us.
This week, don’t focus on the failure from the past but focus on the present opportunities you will have. This week may be a major turning point for you in your life if you’ll just focus on the present and optimize the future. You will never win at anything living in the past!
Philippians 3:23-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
