“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

I have never understood why God loves us the way He does. Think about how bad we are at times, yet He still loves us. God knows past time, present time, and future time all at the same time. With that being said, God knew all that we would do and how we would constantly let Him down, yet He still loved us and was willing to allow His son Jesus to die for our sins. Here are a few things about the love of God:

1. The Perimeter of God’s Love - “the world”

Perimeter- the outer boundary of a body or figure

There is not one individual who has ever lived that God didn’t love. No matter our race or gender. No matter what we have done. No matter what we are doing, God still loves us.

2. The Proof of God’s Love - “He gave”

Proof- evidence of a truth or fact

God proved his love for us by sending Jesus to earth. Jesus proved His love when He went to Calvary and died for our sins! Jesus, who knew no sin, became sin so you and I could become the sons of God. Jesus was willing to give His life so we could live!

3. The Prudence of God’s Love - “His only begotten son”

Prudence- being careful or thrifty

You see, God didn’t send just anyone to die for our sins. As a matter of fact, there was no one else that could come and die for our sin because they had to have pure, undefiled blood!! God gave His best when He gave us His son.

4. The Protection of God’s Love - “should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This is the greatest protection that one can give because it is an eternal protection!!

No one else can give this protection!! This protection means that if I put my faith in Christ, I have the assurance of spending eternity with Him in Heaven one day!
