“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 1:7

Chapters one and two of Genesis describe the record of creation. When studying these two chapters, we find that God made everything from a distance, with the exception of man. The Bible tells us God breathed the breath of life into the nostrils of man. Breathing into the nostrils of another requires closeness, a type of closeness God gave during creation only to man.

Think about a few things…

God made you different, not indifferent.

God made you extraordinary, not ordinary.

God Made you competent, not incompetent.

God made you effective, not defective.

God made you adept, not inept.

God made you adequate, not inadequate.

God made you efficient, not inefficient.

God made you responsible, not irresponsible.

God made you sane, not insane.

God made you sensitive, not insensitive.

God made you common, not uncommon.

God made you decisive, not indecisive.

God made you an original, not a copy.

According to 1 Corinthians 12, it pleased God when He made you. When God created you it put a smile on His face. I’ll leave you with the words of Ethel Waters, “I know I’m somebody, ‘cause God don’t make no junk.”
