If you’re like me, when you buy something that needs to be put together, you just get to it without thinking about whether it is something we can accomplish on our own or not. There have been many times when my wife, Leslie, would say, “Honey, if you’ll ask someone to help you, this will probably go a lot faster and even be a lot safer.” As a man, we sometimes feel that we don’t need help and especially don’t need a woman telling us how to do it!

We often think we can handle anything life throws at us and can take care of it on our own. When it's all said and done, I have usually ended up asking for help and Leslie has been right. If only I had listened to her, I would have been done a lot quicker. The moral to the story is simple…there are going to be times when we will need help.

The older I get, the more I realize I need the Lord to help me. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” The key to this verse is through Christ. We must realize that in our strength, there are many things we cannot do, BUT when we learn to depend on Him we can do all things.
