“Be not deceived:” - Galatians 6:7a

Deceived: Misled; led into error; beguiled; cheated; deluded.

The Bible warns us to not be deceived, but there are many today who are deceived about Jesus. In the world we live in, the name of Jesus is hated. There is no other name under attack like the name, Jesus. You can pray in any name BUT the name of Jesus. To so many today, you can talk about any subject except the subject of Jesus. That’s because so many have been deceived about Jesus and the truth about Him. Let's take a minute and look at what those of His day said about Him.

“Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.” (Luke 23:4)Pilate is referring to Jesus here and describing him as a man who had no faults.

“And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.”  (Luke 23:41) One of the men who died on a cross beside Jesus, confesses Jesus in this passage as someone without fault.

“Now the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.” (Matthew 27:54) Those who witnessed the death of Jesus recognized him as the Son of God in this passage.

John speaks of the love of Christ when he stated, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

“And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.” (Luke 23:46)

Jesus, the man spoken of in each of these passages, is still the same Jesus we serve today. The Bible tells us He is unchanging, so when the people of Jesus’ day described Him as perfect, faultless, and the loving son of God, we can rest assured that the Jesus we serve today still has those same qualities.

What is the truth about Jesus today? Jesus loved you and me enough to lay his life down and die for us. Why someone would hate the name of Jesus, I do not understand. Don’t be deceived by the mindset of our society today. The truth is that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you, and if you put your faith and trust in Him, you can live eternally with Him in Heaven!
