“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27

Death is certainly not a topic I just sit around and think about; however, that doesn't change the fact that we will all face death one day. Personally, I do not fear death. As a 16-year-old young man I accepted Christ as my Savior, so I know where I am headed when I die. I do fear the way I am going to die. I think we would all agree that none of us are interested in suffering!

Despite knowing that I will spend eternity in Heaven after I die, I still fear the “judgment” the Bible says will come after death. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 5:10. It is a serious matter to have to stand before any judge, but what a sobering thought that one day we will stand in the presence of a Holy God, a God who knows each and every action, thought, and detail of our lives, and He will become our judge.

I am all for living our life to the fullest, enjoying life, and making the best out of every day. BUT we must remember there is coming a judgment day for each of us. On the day when we stand before our creator, the amount of fun and enjoyment we had in our lives won’t matter.  On the day when we stand before the one, true, righteous judge, all that will matter is what we’ve done for Him. I leave you with this thought, a judge is no one to fear as long as you have done what's right.
